The State of Mobile Games and What's To Come


Mobile games. Playing a game on a hand held device that you can take anywhere you want thats why its called a mobile game. It's a concept that in the early two thousands was considered impossible. The ability to play games on a tiny hand held devices was amazing at that time. Now in 2020 if you have a mobile phone you probably have a game on your phone. 


Originally games on the mobile phone used to be simple. like angry birds, a game where you just drag a bird on a catapult to launch it to a bunch of pigs. People used to think that other game consoles are better than a mobile device because there's no way a mobile phone can play skyrim. A massively open world game where you can explore a huge map with so many quests and so many characters in it. Well they're wrong.


On 28th of September, a game called genshin impact was launched. The game is an open world 3D RPG game with many quests and characters and a huge map to explore. The game is available on PC, PS4, and MOBILE DEVICES both android and IOS. to be able to play a 3d game with good graphics on a mobile phone is amazing on its own. This is an OPEN WORLD RPG playable on a mobile device. The game is developed by MIHOYO a chinese game company known for their first game Honkai Impact. A 3d mobile game similar with genshin impact.


It's still mind blowing that you can play this game on a mobile phone. Because mobile games are usually simple with 2D graphics and linear gameplay. The game is amazing and all but because the game is free to play and basically a mobile game. The game suffers from some problems like other free to play mobile games have. Like limited energy to play certain missions and worst of all a gacha system.


Limited energy to play certain missions is okay-ish. Because if you can unlimitedly play the mission over and over again the game will be terribly unbalanced because players that play the game for a long period of time will be much stronger. But the fact that you’ll need to wait an hour to recharge 10 energy is simply to long and you can recharge it with in game currency making player that pay for it even stronger.


Gacha system. Many mobile games have this “feature”. Gacha are basically like gambling because you are not guaranteed to get what you want you just get the chance of getting what you want  .Many mobile players hates this system because strong character that you want probably has a low chance of getting it and you’ll need extreme luck or a lot of money to get it. Making pay to win players even more stronger.


In conclusion the game is extremely beautiful for a mobile game. And who knows what great games are coming to the mobile phone.

A: I think the game have beautiful graphics, amazing gameplay, good storyline


Q: do you think the game have problems? 

A: Yes, problems like limited energy and long recharge time, lack of incentive to play the game more, and the gacha system


Q; why do you think the limited energy is a problem? Isnt it more of a good thing because players get time to rest.

A: Yes its good but the fact that you have to wait a long time for the energy to recharge is annoying and players can just play to instantly recharge energy.


Q: why do you think the game lacks the incentive for players to play the game more?

A: simple because of the limited energy system


Q: why do you consider the gacha system to be a problem?

A: well because its a gacha system. You’ll only get a chance to get the character/ weapon you want. And players can just pay to gacha over and over again.
